Ghanaian bride stuns guests with her 'no makeup' look at her wedding

When planning a wedding, there is always a checklist that needs to be cleared, especially on the part of the bride.

Her dress, the shoes, jewelry and of course, the makeup. In this fast-paced world where the beauty industry gets even more competitive by the day, booking your makeup artist early is an essential item on your checklist.

But what if you want to take the 'natural you' to your biggest day? That is what this Ghanaian bride did, when she went full natural on her wedding day, from hair to chin.

In a report by Omgvoice.com, this Ghanaian bride was serene and lovely, in a fresh-faced look when she said 'I do'.

The bride with her dashing army officer husband, was pretty in her simple yet charming wedding dress, her natural hair wonderfully styled, and bubbly smile to brighten her face.

This is not the first time YEN.com.gh has come across a push against the status quo, as some months ago, a beautiful bride in Accra also went makeup-less.

The wedding game is changing in Accra, what with brides doing what feels most comfortable and natural to them on their special day; one example is the Ghanaian bride that wore sneakers instead of the popular heels on her happy day.

Court demands Bulldog’s discharge letter

Court demands Bulldog’s discharge letter

Defence Counsel for Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson, aka Bulldog, has expressed frustrations over a letter supposedly written by the Police to the District Court asking that his client should be discharged.

The court presided over by Mr. Worlanyo Kotoku said the court did not have any letter from the Police nor the Attorney General pertaining to Bulldog’s discharge.

“The letter discharging the accused is not before me,” the court said.

The court therefore asked defence counsel and his client to exercise little bit of restraint for the provision of the said discharged letter.

Defence counsel, Mr. Jerry Avernogbor said he was at the Police headquarters where the Director of Homicide Unit said he had written to the court over Bulldog’s discharge.

Counsel held that the Police were deceiving his client and the court and urged the court to exercise its discretion by discharging the accused for want of prosecution.

Mr. Avernogbor urged the Court to activate its powers to discharge accused since he has been coming to court for the past three years.

He told the court that his client wanted to travel outside the jurisdiction but could not due to this scenario.

Detective Sergeant Rose Anima who held brief for the Prosecution told the court that there has been some developments.

Sergeant Anima however could not disclose what the latest development entails.

On November 15, this year the court summoned a Senior State Attorney, Mr. Richard Gyambiby, to appear before it in Accra, to explain certain issues in the case.

Mr. Gyambiby is said to have worked on the case docket and advised that Bulldog, who the Chief Executive Officer for Bull Haus Entertainment be discharged.

The Police, however, stated that the advice from the AG had some codified information, which needed to be discussed by the Police Administration.

Hanson is being prosecuted for allegedly murdering Fennec Okyere, a Music Producer in May 2014.

Though charged with conspiracy to murder and murder, the Court, has preserved the plea of Bulldog.

Bulldog has, however, been admitted to bail by the Human Rights Court, a division of the High Court
After several years of waiting for the advice from the Attorney General; the AG recently recommended that Hanson be discharged.

The matter has been adjourned to January 10, next year.

Not having sex with Tracy for a month was challenging – Sarkodie

Not having sex with Tracy for a month was challenging – Sarkodie
Award-winning rapper Sarkodie has revealed one of the most challenging times in his life.
The rapper who appeared on Westwood crib session in UK revealed to the host Tim Westwood that one of the hardest moments he had with his baby mama, Tracy was the first month she gave birth to their first child, Titi.
According to him, he was advised to avoid any sexual intercourse with the new mum for a period of one month and that was indeed challenging for him considering the fact that he could do foreplay without sex.
“So my daughter came and the first two weeks or one month, I’m not supposed to touch her (Tracy). You are not supposed to do anything and that was like the hardest time. You can (hold her) but you don’t have to let it lead to the main thing (sex) so you need to take a break which is like very very hard.
What I was doing was trying to take my mind off it and trying to do things that can make me focus on something else.” He told Tim
He also added that Tracy was no help at all since she also teased him with dresses which were hard to look away
“but this girl (Tracy) keeps coming into the room to pick stuff wearing some stuff that is so hard to stay back. You know the funny thing, you can stay away for three weeks without doing it when you know you are free to do it but when you are told not to do it, that’s when you want to do it”.

Singer Jackie Ankrah was full of emotion when she recounted the genuine love she shared with the late Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong, popularly known as KABA.
For her, the relationship she shared with the late presenter was more than love; it was mutual respect for each other.
KABA was pronounced dead on arrival at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was rushed after he fell sick early Saturday.
He was 37 years. He left behind a wife, Valentina Ofori Agyei, also a broadcaster with Accra-based Class FM and a seven-month-old daughter, Nana Yaa.

Jackie Ankrah said she knew “that KABA believed in God and that’s something that he was proud of, his faith in Christ Jesus. I’m looking forward to the resurrection because I know that I will see my friend again.”
“This industry can be harsh and unfriendly and superficial and artificial and cruel sometimes and it was nice that I had KABA because KABA, I can say loved me, he really did love me, and I loved him too,” the singer grieved.
“He was such a beautiful soul,” Jackie Ankrah added. “I felt that he was brilliant… I think KABA and I just had mutual respect for each other, we didn’t just love each other, we admired each other, we respected each other.”

Creative arts persons threaten to demonstrate over 2018 budget

Creative arts threaten to demonstrate over 2018 budget
Some players in the creative arts industry have threatened to embark on a demonstration against goverment over the 2018 budget.
They have threatened to hit the streets and march to the seat of government to register their displeasure over the less prominence given the sector in the budget.
Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta during the presentation of 2018 budget statement and economic policy to Parliament on Wednesday, said the government will commence feasibility studies to set up a Creative Arts Fund to support the creative arts industry.
The move, which was part of the party’s 2016 manifesto, was targeted at making available funds to modernize and develop the sector.
The Minister, apart from the Creative Arts Fund, also said the ‘See Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana and Feel Ghana’ programme, which was launched this year, will continue in 2018.
However, some industry players, who were pundits on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, are angered that government delivered empty promises in the 2018 budget reading.
Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson (Bulldog), Prince Tsegah, Prince Nana Poku (Ashes), Frankie 5 and Kwesi Ernest commenting on the budget expressed anxiety after what was described as a total neglect of the creative arts industry.
They further threatened to go on the demonstration to push for more attention to be given to the creative arts industry.
Bulldog said, “we have to mobilize ourselves and walk to that edifice. People fought and died for us and that is why we are sitting down here comfortably, so if we don't want to die for posterity we are a disgrace.”
Prince Tsegah called on the Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister, Catherine Afeku to reveal what her Ministry has in store for the industry.
“It is our duty to make ourselves heard and we must take steps towards it. We must all unite and have a common purpose and let them know the importance of the industry,” he said.
Frankie 5 also said, “We should champion the passing of the Creative Arts Bill. It is quite unfortunate things are going on that does not seem to benefit the creative arts industry.”

What made that tweet unique was that the President addressed the dancehall artiste in pidgin.
It started as a simple request from the dancehall artiste Shatta Wale on Twitter on October 13 to President Akufo-Addo. He asked the President, “Your Excellency, Tuesday is my birthday ..what are you giving me ..@NAkufoAddo ”

Shatta Wale would have been satisfied with the fact that the President recognized him on his birthday but the First Gentleman was not done yet.

Overwhelmed by the message from President Akufo-Addo, the dancehall artiste swiftly responded, “ah! but @NAkufoAddo U be guy oo!! pidgin reply paaa...i feel you ruff..lol”.

During the interactions, Shatta Wale presented the President with the keys to the City of Worcester, Massachusetts which he received in July this year while on a tour in the United States.
